Agrovision To Invest in Large-Scale Berry Cultivation in Yunnan

September 19, 2023

Recently, local government representatives in Dali Prefecture, Yunnan province, participated in discussions with Agrovision regarding a planned berry project in Dali.

Agrovision is a berry producer and supplier that conducts a wide range of operations, including cultivation, packaging, logistics and sales, with branches in Peru, Mexico, Morocco and the United States. Its main products consist of various berries, such as blueberries, raspberries, blackberries and table grapes. Through its international presence, Agrovision has successfully ensured a year-round berry supply, with Asia, North America and Europe as its primary export markets.

Three months ago, the Yunnan Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs organized an investment promotion symposium, during which Agrovision expressed its desire to accelerate the development of Yunnan’s berry industry and establish a strong and long-term presence in China.

As part of Agrovision’s medium- to long-term vision, the company plans to set up a 2,360-hectare berry plantation primarily dedicated to blueberries in Yunnan, with an anticipated output value of 4.8 billion Chinese yuan ($658 million). The first phase of the plan will involve selecting a suitable site for the initial 84-hectare plantation. Moreover, the berry giant also intends to establish its Chinese headquarters and register its business in Yunnan.
