Shenzhen Noposion International Investment Co. Ltd. recently announced that it plans to issue A-shares to selected investors in an effort to raise up to 1.45 billion Chinese yuan ($205 million). After deducting issuance expenses, the proceeds will be used to expand the company’s blueberry production base, build an international berry research and development center, and supplement working capital.
Among these, the blueberry base expansion project is planned to receive an investment of 1.221 billion yuan ($173 million), of which 1.1 billion yuan ($156 million) will come from the raised funds. The berry research and development center is expected to receive an investment of 150 million yuan ($21 million), which will be used for developing new berry varieties and has a construction timeline of three years. According to the announcement, Noposion also intends to establish a new blueberry plantation in Yunnan province, adding approximately 13,500 mu (900 hectares) of new planting area, with a construction period of two years.
Founded in 1999, Noposion is a leading Chinese enterprise specializing in the research, development, production and sales of pesticide formulations. In recent years, the company has been aggressively expanding into the fresh produce sector. It has established nearly 10,000 mu (667 hectares) of dragon fruit and yellow dragon fruit plantations in Sanya, Hainan province, as well as nearly 10,000 mu (667 hectares) of macadamia orchards in Guiping, Guangxi province. In 2021, it began developing blueberry farms in Yunnan. While its other specialty crops have underperformed, blueberry cultivation has become the primary driver of Noposion’s growth.
In the 2024/25 season, Noposion’s harvestable blueberry area reached 280,000 mu (18,667 hectares), generating over 2 billion yuan ($283 million) in sales and positioning the company as one of China’s leading blueberry sellers. In the 2025/26 season, the harvestable area is expected to increase to around 360,000 mu (24,000 hectares). With the newly planned projects, Noposion’s total blueberry cultivation area will expand to 495,000 mu (33,000 hectares).
As of September 2025, Noposion’s investment in the blueberry sector had surpassed 4 billion yuan ($566 million). The company has established more than 60 farms and over 40 cold-chain processing centers across more than 10 regions in Yunnan, including Honghe, Wenshan, Chuxiong, Pu’er, Baoshan, Dehong, Dali and Xishuangbanna.
Noposion’s consumer-facing blueberry brands, such as Imberry (爱莓庄) and Midielan (迷迭蓝), are already available through channels including Sam’s Club, JD.com, Olé and 7Fresh, with shopping malls accounting for 20–30% of total sales. The company is also expanding its presence in lower-tier cities, and Imberry blueberries are now exported to over 20 countries worldwide. Meanwhile, Noposion is developing a blueberry plantation on the Bolaven Plateau in southern Laos, with production scheduled to begin next year.
In the third quarter of 2025, Noposion recorded an operating revenue of 4.086 billion yuan ($578 million). Among its core business segments, the fresh produce category grew by 19% year on year, reaching 1.808 billion yuan ($256 million) and accounting for 49.1% of total revenue, far surpassing other segments such as insecticides (18.7%).
