Chilean Cherry Sales Heat Up With Launch of Lucky Draw Campaign

January 18, 2024

As the Spring Festival approaches, Chilean cherries, a prominent player in China’s fruit industry, are gearing up for their peak sales season. This winter, Chinese consumers purchasing Chilean cherries will once again have the chance to participate in the Chilean Cherry Committee’s lucky draw promotion to gain the opportunity to win a variety of prizes. This marks the fourth consecutive year that the lucky draw has taken place in China. In previous years, this annual event has attracted tens of thousands of participants, sparking a significant rise in consumer enthusiasm.

The leadup to Chinese New Year is the peak sales period for imported fruits in China, especially in the case of Chilean cherries. At present, multiple cargo ships laden with cherries are en route to China. Over recent years, cherries have not only emerged as a sought-after gift during holidays but also secured a place as a preferred fruit for daily consumption.

To support cherry dealers and retailers in China, Frutas de Chile, formerly known as the Chilean Fruit Exporters Association, has put its promotional focus on the Spring Festival season. This year’s lucky draw campaign will be promoted not only online through social media and e-commerce platforms but also offline through fruit stores.

The event kicked off on Jan. 15 and will last through Feb. 15, a period covering the Chinese Spring Festival and Valentine’s Day holidays. Entry into the lucky draw is open to all consumers who upload their proof of purchase of Chilean cherries.

Anyone who wants the chance to take home these prizes should scan the QR code at the top of this article to follow the Cherries from Chile WeChat account or visit the Cherries from Chile Weibo account. Another way to participate in the event is by scanning the QR code on the promotional posters for Chilean cherries that can be found in numerous supermarkets and fruit stores across China. This season’s winners will be announced via all official Chilean cherry media accounts on Feb. 18, 2024.
