On July 4, JD Super, the supermarket division of e-commerce giant JD.com, and Camposol, Peru’s leading fruit exporter, celebrated the arrival of the first batch of Peruvian blueberries for the 2025/26 season in Shanghai.
The shipment featured premium Madeira blueberries, carefully graded into sizes of greater than 16 millimeters and greater than 18 millimeters, packed in sets of four boxes weighing a total of 500 grams. On JD Super’s Jingxiansheng platform, these retail for 59.9 Chinese yuan ($8.35) and 88 yuan ($12.26), respectively.
This year’s Peruvian blueberry season started two weeks earlier than usual, with the projected harvest exceeding 400,000 metric tons — a 27% increase over last year.
JD Super has deepened its partnership with Camposol this year, targeting the direct procurement of over 1,000 metric tons of blueberries from northern Peru. As China’s largest online retailer of Peruvian blueberries, JD Super is expected to secure a 10% share of the 72,000 metric tons that Peru exports to China.
Since entering the imported blueberry market in 2018, JD Super has enforced a rigorous quality assurance system. Dedicated staff monitor quality at Peruvian warehouses, complemented by regular spot checks of the online inventory.
To ensure freshness, the blueberries are transported to China via a sanitized, end-to-end cold chain system. JD Logistics supports distribution, delivering cold-chain products to over 300 cities nationwide.
