Aug. 27, 2025 — In the golden season of harvest, the China International Fruit Expo 2025 (China Fruit) grandly opened today at Halls E6 and E7 of the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

As the largest and most professional B2B fruit exhibition in mainland China, the event is hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Foodstuffs, Native Produce and Animal By-Products (CFNA) and organized by Shanghai Everflourish Events Co. Ltd. It has attracted exhibitors and professional visitors from over 40 countries and regions, focusing on innovation and cooperation across the entire fruit industry chain, aiming to promote the high-quality development of China’s fruit industry.

During the opening ceremony, consuls and trade representatives from 10 countries, including Chile, Peru, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, the Philippines, France, Spain, the United States and Cambodia, were present.

This year’s expo features an unprecedented international delegation presence, with leading brands, regional names and emerging domestic players all in attendance.

Breeding Delegation “Breeding the Future” Makes Its Debut

The “Breeding the Future” delegation, composed of four leading global breeding companies — Bloom Fresh, Fall Creek China, Sun World and SVM — made its collective debut. Their participation is set to promote a shift in China’s fruit industry from “rights protection” to “win-win collaboration,” supporting China’s transformation from a high-output country to a high-quality fruit powerhouse. The initiative will support fruit growers with standardized and authorized solutions — from nursery trees and technology to branding — enhancing cultivation efficiency, market prospects and sustainable returns. This will enable a seamless connection between “great varieties — quality orchards — vibrant markets,” unlocking the industry’s next decade of growth.

The expo also strengthens support for domestic production regions, with dedicated exhibition areas and concurrent events to promote regional development and market expansion. The Yunnan Pavilion showcased the diversity of the “Fruit Kingdom of Yunnan,” highlighting its 11.5 million mu (approx. 770,000 hectares) of orchards, 13 million tons of annual output and strong export advantages. Regional brands like “Zhaoyang Red” apples and “Lijiang mangos” were promoted to international audiences.

The Guangxi Pavilion presented four major product categories: ASEAN imports, Guangxi fruits, processed products, and pickled fruits and vegetables (suanye). With 21 million mu (1.4 million hectares) of plantations, an annual output of 33 million tons (ranked number one nationally for seven consecutive years) and an output value of 200 billion Chinese yuan ($28 billion), it featured distinctive varieties like Rong’an kumquats, Qinzhou passion fruit and Leye kiwifruit.

The expo’s first day featured a rich schedule of concurrent events, including the Kunming Haiguangxing Fruit Market Promotion Conference, the Yunnan Highland Specialty Fruits Promotion Conference and the Guangxi China–ASEAN Fruit Trading Center Promotion Conference, among others.

Leading E-Commerce Platforms and Major Wholesale Markets Deepen Onsite Cooperation

Amid profound transformation in the global fruit industry, this year’s expo continues with the theme “World Fruit China Market,” acting as a bridge to promote coordinated innovation across the supply chain. It aims to help enterprises expand sales channels, enhance branding and inject new vitality into China’s 1.4-billion-consumer market. We wish China Fruit 2025 great success! We look forward to welcoming you over the next two exciting days!

More Events Coming Aug. 28–29

The expo is also closely linked with the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, featuring the “2025 Shanghai Summer Pudong Carnival” series of activities. Among them, the onsite “Fruit Wave on the Bund” Global Fresh Fruit Market allows ordinary consumers to experience diverse fruit cultures firsthand.
