ASQIQ Updates Permitted Fruit List, Kiwiberries Not Included

On March 28, AQSIQ again updated their import list using the Chinese names, scientific names, and English names of permitted fruit in their "Directory of Permitted Export Countries and Fresh Fruit Species for Inspection and Quarantine.” This latest version of the list mainly involves an update to the scientific names of imported kiwi. New Zealand, Chile, Italy, France and Greece are the countries currently permitted to export kiwis to China. The countries and the scientific names of the fruit they are allowed to export are as follows:

New Zealand: kiwi (Actinidia chinensis, Actinidia deliciosa, Actinidia deliciosa × Actinidia chinensis)

Chile: kiwi (Actinidia chinensis, Actinidia deliciosa)

Italy: kiwi (Actinidia chinensis, Actinidia deliciosa)

France: kiwi (Actinidia chinensis, Actinidia deliciosa)

Greece: kiwi (Actinidia chinensis)

Kiwiberries (Actinidia arguta) were not included on the permitted list. For details, please refer to the AQSIQ official announcement:
