Pengsheng Welcomes First Shipment of Camposol Blueberries for 2025/26 Season

July 08, 2025

According to the Peruvian Blueberry Growers and Exporters Association (Proarándanos), Peru’s blueberry production for the 2025/26 season is expected to increase by 27% year on year, with a significant share destined for Asian markets. China, as one such market with immense growth potential, stands as the top priority in Asia.

Recently, the first batch of blueberries from Camposol, a top agro-exporter and Peru’s main exporter of blueberries, arrived in China. On July 6, Shanghai Pengsheng Industrial Co. Ltd. held a launch ceremony celebrating the arrival of Camposol blueberries at the Shenyang Bajiazi Fruit Wholesale Market. Also known as Shenyang Dili Logistics Park, this market supplies over 90% of Shenyang’s local fruit demand and distributes 50% of its fruits to the three northeastern provinces and Inner Mongolia.

The event was attended by numerous distinguished guests, including Luis Cabello, trade counsellor of Peru in Beijing; Luis Miguel Baanante, Camposol’s regional general manager for Asia; Zhang Guomin, vice president of China Dili Group and general manager of Shenyang Dili; Deng Lingjun, partner of Shanghai Pengsheng Industrial; and Hao Zhibin, head of Shenyang Xinhui Fruit. Together, the attendees inaugurated the first container of Camposol blueberries with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

In his speech, Baanante stated, “The arrival of this batch of blueberries not only marks the official start of Camposol’s new season in the Chinese market but also signifies progress in our carefully crafted strategy over the years: to supply our trusted Camposol brand and long shelf life blueberries to consumers in inner Chinese markets, like northern China, in a more efficient and direct manner.”

The head of Shanghai Pengsheng and deputy of its partner Shenyang Xinhui Fruit jointly emphasized the development momentum of China’s blueberry market: “China’s blueberry consumption is growing explosively at an annual rate of 40% and is rapidly penetrating into third- and fourth-tier cities. The traditional northern blueberry producing areas are affected by the climate, and there is still a large gap in the supply of high-quality blueberries that can maintain a stable supply from June to August. Peruvian blueberries are a perfect fit for the domestic market with their unique advantages such as perfectly filling the gap in domestic blueberries, continuous variety innovation and steady growth.”

The first shipment consisted of one container with 20 pallets, totaling 7,800 boxes (1.5 kilograms per box) or approximately 11.7 metric tons of blueberries. Apart from a small portion sold at the wholesale market, the entire batch was pre-ordered by Shanghai Pengsheng’s offline partners and online platforms for cooperation.

This season’s Peruvian blueberries have benefited from favorable weather conditions, resulting in overall better quality compared to last year. Through long-term collaboration with Peruvian exporters and continuous investment in China’s blueberry market, Shanghai Pengsheng has steadily increased its blueberry imports. The company plans to import over 750 containers this year, representing a 50% surge from the previous year.
