Submitted by Produce Report [2] on Tue, 03/24/2026 - 09:55

This newsletter is published on behalf of Fruit Data Kings, a Berlin-based company specializing in pricing data and associated analytical tools for the fresh produce industry. For more information, visit the Fruit Data Kings website [3].

Apples (⇩)

New Zealand apples are dominating the imported segment by a large margin, with Royal Gala accounting for the lion’s share. Royal Gala is averaging ¥269 (18 kg), sitting about 12% above the same week of 2025 but a few percent below two seasons ago. Breeze was also tracked at ¥260 (18 kg), well below both prior seasons. The first South African arrivals of Royal Beaut and Gala have also entered the market. Full wholesale and retail data are available to members.

Avocados (⇧)

Imported avocado pricing lifted strongly this week at the wholesale level, with Peruvian goods continuing to dominate the market. At the retail level, we also noted a lifting in prices. However, values remain below last year’s average value.

Blueberries (⇧)

Domestic Chinese blueberry pricing lifted this week, which marks the third consecutive week of rising prices. L11 and L25 varieties from Yunnan were trading between ¥85 and ¥110 (1.5 kg, 15/18+ mm), with brand and quality contributing considerably to final returns. Good-quality 22+ mm were pricing substantially firmer. At retail, we also registered an increase to an average of ¥19.25 per punnet (125 g).

Grapes (⇩)

Australian Crimson was the most widely recorded variety this week, averaging ¥258 (9.5 kg), comfortably above the previous two seasons. Peruvian Sweet Globe pulled back sharply to ¥210 (7.3 kg), still a few percent firmer than last year, while Autumn Crisp from the same origin firmed to ¥257 (7.3 kg). Chilean Sable traded at ¥145 (8.2 kg), broadly in line with 2025 but well below two seasons ago. Sweet Globe, Red Globe and other varieties from multiple origins are also tracked online.

Nectarines (⇩)

Over the past three weeks, Chilean Sweet Giant and Giant Pearl accounted for approximately 60% of all recorded openings at the wholesale level. Sweet Giant slipped to around ¥96 (9 kg), sitting roughly 25% below the same week of last year, as Giant Pearl was broadly flat at ¥93 (9 kg), also well below last year.

Oranges (⇨)

Egyptian Valencia remains active at an average price of ¥128 (15 kg), sitting well below both the previous season (−8%) and 2024 (−17%). Domestic navels from Hubei are entering the market at between ¥100 and ¥110 (15 kg, various sizes), so a selection remains available for consumers. Detailed wholesale and retail data are available to members.

Plums (⇩)

Sugar plum/D’Agen eased slightly to ¥153 (9 kg), about 21% below last year but comfortably above 2024 levels. Sweet Mary firmed noticeably to ¥211 (9 kg), broadly in line with 2025 pricing.
