Camposol Opens Peruvian Blueberry Season in Asia With First Ocean Arrival [1]

Camposol [3], a global leader in Peruvian agricultural exports, has announced that this season’s first ocean shipment to Asia of fresh Peruvian blueberries [4] successfully arrived at the Port of Kaohsiung on June 23, marking the official start of the 2025/26 season for the Asian market.

Newly established shipping routes from Peru’s Chancay Port [5] have significantly reduced transit times to Asia for Camposol’s fruits. Major hubs such as Shanghai, Tianjin, Singapore and Kaohsiung are already benefiting from this improved efficiency. Luis Miguel Baanante, general manager of Camposol China, remarked, “The shorter transit times will enhance the competitiveness of Peruvian blueberries on the Asian market and lay a strong foundation for further expansion.”

Camposol’s CEO Ricardo Naranjo added, “Thanks to the Chancay Port route and strong collaboration across our team and partners, our ability to deliver fresh, premium blueberries to Asia is stronger than ever. But our goals aren’t only about speed or being first to market — they’re ultimately about reinforcing our leadership in quality and dependability in key markets.”

Camposol exports more Peruvian fresh produce than any other company and is also the country’s largest blueberry exporter. Capitalizing on Peru’s unique geographical advantages, the company has achieved year-round production and supply of fresh blueberries. To better complement the local production seasons of its target markets, Camposol adjusts its supply schedules strategically. For instance, from March to May, when Yunnan blueberries dominate the Chinese market, Camposol reduces its supply to China. Rather than viewing Yunnan blueberries as competition, Camposol recognizes their improving quality and growing export volume as catalysts for boosting overall demand for fresh blueberries. This, in turn, increases the demand for imports during China’s off-season.

According to projections from the Peruvian Blueberry Growers Association [6] (Proarándanos), Peru’s blueberry production is expected to see 26% year-on-year growth in the 2025/26 season, with Asia set to absorb a significant share of this increase. Baanante emphasized, “The Camposol brand is widely recognized for its consistent quality and reliability. Our blueberries are trusted across the whole supply chain for their low damage rates, excellent appearance, and balanced sweet-sour flavor. Their affordability and extended shelf life make them particularly well-suited for long-distance shipping, especially to markets like mainland China. This reliability has cemented our reputation as a preferred supplier in Asia.”

As a prominent importer of Southern Hemisphere fruits into China, Camposol China, established in 2017, has successfully introduced high-quality produce, including blueberries, avocados, cherries, grapes, mangos and mandarins, to the Chinese market. The recent arrival at the Port of Kaohsiung underscores Camposol’s strategic commitment to deepening its presence in Asia by providing fruits of consistent quality and reliable performance.
