Apples (⇧)
New Zealand continues to be the primary supplier of apples, with South African presence slightly increased, while Chilean supply holds steady. New Zealand Royal Gala prices saw a slight increase, averaging ¥282 (18 kg). NZ Dazzle also firmed, averaging ¥412 (18 kg), representing an 11.3% increase compared to the previous year. Grapes (⇩)
Chilean grapes dominate supply, with Australia as the second major origin. Australian Crimson prices declined significantly to an average value of ¥177 (9.5 kg), a substantial 52.2% year-on-year drop. That being said, as is typical we note a wide price range for these goods. Chilean Red Globe also eased, averaging ¥142 (8.2 kg). For full market details visit us online. View market data [5].
Grapefruit (⇩)
South Africa is the sole supplier of grapefruit currently. South African Star Ruby prices eased slightly to ¥246 (15 kg); however, this is still firmer than what was visible in the market last year, which is vastly better than the same point in time during the 2023 season. View market data [6].
Oranges (⇨)
Egypt remains the primary origin for oranges, with a modest share from the United States. Egyptian Valencia prices were stable, averaging ¥140 (15 kg), which is about 8.6% firmer compared to the same time last year. Count 56 found the most demand and were pricing at the top end of the market, followed by 64s and 72s, which priced closer together this week. View market data [7].
Lemons (★)
South African Eureka lemons have started arriving in the market. Current prices are between ¥360 and ¥380 (15 kg), which is significantly higher compared to previous seasons. View market data [8].
