Apples (⇨)
New Zealand remains the most dominant origin, although South African volumes are clearly visible too. NZ Royal Gala prices eased slightly this week, averaging ¥295 (18 kg, various sizes) and trading between ¥260 and ¥320 (price by size information is available online). Current pricing is about 5% below last year and in line with the 2023 season. South African Fuji Red prices firmed to an average of ¥300 (18 kg, various sizes) and are about 32% higher than last year. View market data.
Grapefruit (⇨)
South African grapefruit prices eased slightly. Despite the small weekly decrease, prices are trading about 10% above last year and are similar to those in 2023. View market data.
Lemons (⇧)
Lemon arrivals into China remain sporadic, with the price range very wide depending on the brand and quality level. A higher percentage of green lemons have found their way to the market, likely linked to their attractive pricing. View market data.
Oranges (⇩)
Egyptian Valencia prices pulled downward this week, but they are still trading over 53% higher than last year at an average of ¥180 (15 kg). Australian navel prices saw a notable drop in pricing and are now trading 27% below last year’s values. South African navels have also continued to arrive and despite a visible price decline remain firmer than in the previous two seasons. View market data.
Soft Citrus (⇩)
South African and Australian soft citrus are active on the market, with volumes increasing. South African Nova prices decreased, although they remain over 30% above last season’s levels. Australian Royal Honey Murcott softened slightly but are following last year’s price levels for both 9 kg and 18 kg packs. The first South African Tango and Peruvian W. Murcott shipments were also opened during the week. View market data.
