Madrid, Oct. 22, 2026 — Fruit Attraction 2026 [3], organized by IFEMA Madrid [4] and FEPEX [5], has once again broken records in its 18th edition, attracting 128,364 professionals from 170 countries, representing a 6% increase in attendance compared with the previous year. The event also significantly expanded its international reach, welcoming visitors from 18 new markets compared with 2025.

Of the total number of visitors, 45% were international, reflecting the event’s increasingly global and professional profile. Spain maintained a strong presence, with Andalusia, Valencia, Murcia and Catalonia among the leading participating regions. International visitors mainly came from European countries including Italy, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, the United Kingdom and Germany, as well as from other regions such as Chile, Peru, South Africa and Brazil.

The exhibition area also achieved record figures, bringing together 2,588 companies from 79 countries across 162,000 square meters of exhibition space. This represents a 4% increase in exhibiting companies and a 23% rise in international participation compared with the previous edition.

Fruit Attraction once again served as a platform for international business development through its International Buyers Program, organized in collaboration with the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, ICEX, and FEPEX. The program brought 600 major buyers, retail purchasing managers, importers and wholesalers from 62 countries to Madrid. The Guest Importing Countries program, featuring China and the United Arab Emirates this year, further strengthened international trade opportunities.

The event’s extensive program of conferences and technical sessions, together with Factoría Chef, attracted more than 3,337 attendees across 107 sessions, during which 221 speakers explored the latest trends in innovation, sustainability, logistics and fresh produce technology.

These figures are complemented by two major industry events held on the eve of the exhibition: the Avocado Congress [6], which gathered 645 attendees, and the Potato Symposium [7], attended by 273 professionals, highlighting the sector’s growing interest in specialized forums for knowledge-sharing and debate. Indeed, the potato was selected as the flagship product of Fruit Attraction 2026, with a dedicated symposium showcasing the segment’s dynamism, innovation capacity and growth potential within the fresh produce industry.

Innovation was also recognized through the Innovation Hub Awards, which honored the sector’s most outstanding products and services from a total of 45 entries and 9 finalists. Unica received the award in the Fresh Produce category, Polyfly was the winner in the F&V Industry category, and Aimplas won the award for Sustainability and Commitment Initiatives.

Fruit Attraction 2026 also presented its Best Stand Awards, in collaboration with WAH, recognizing exhibitors for excellence in innovation, design, sustainability and originality. Veganic won the Sustainability Award, Cultivar received the Best Design Award, and Cuna de Platero was recognized as the Most Original Stand. Finally, the Visitors’ Favorite Stand Awards, determined by more than 2,700 votes cast by attendees, recognized Pink Lady in Fresh Produce, Sohiscert in Auxiliary Industry, MSC in Fresh Food Logistics and Trixia in Innova & Tech.

Fruit Attraction 2026 once again received the support of the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, with the official opening ceremony presided over by Minister Luis Planas.

As in previous years, the exhibition promoted the collection of fruit and vegetables for the Madrid Food Bank, gathering a total of 55,275 kilograms, 3.5% more than in 2025, reinforcing the sector’s commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.

The celebration of Fruit Attraction 2026 generated an estimated economic impact of 419 million euros for Madrid, representing a 3% increase compared with 2025 and contributing to the maintenance of 3,106 jobs in the region.

Organized by IFEMA Madrid and FEPEX, Fruit Attraction 2027 will be held from Oct. 5 to 7, 2027, at the IFEMA Madrid Exhibition Center.
