Apples (⇨)

The 2025 Southern Hemisphere season is, for all practical purposes, finished, with retailers mostly holding and clearing stocks. As previously noted, New Zealand produce has a very dominant position at the retail, consumer-facing level, even for “commodity varieties” such as Royal Gala. Blueberries (⇧)

Wholesale pricing lifted this week across the board. Depending on the variety, our data show an improvement of anywhere between ¥5.00 and ¥15.00 per 1.5-kilogram carton. Magica accounts for the bulk of the goods at approximately 60% over the last three weeks, while Ventura and Sekoya Pop both feature prominently. Current pricing for these three varieties is mostly following the 2024 trend levels, which remain below 2023 levels. View market data [5].

Cherries (⇧)

We are glad to report that the market remained steady and lifted somewhat during week 46. The percentage of Santina available in the market increased further with over 70% of our data showing the Santina variety. At present, Santina is trading at an average value of ¥630 (5 kg, various sizes), which is 10% lower than the same week of 2024 and 30% lower than that of 2023. Oranges (⇨)

Stocks remain on the wholesale level, although arrivals have dried up. Since week 44, our data show that Australian goods account for a large percentage of oranges on the shelves of first-tier cities, followed by South African goods. The average consumer-facing sales price sits at ¥29.54 (1 kg), with a lower bound of ¥18 (1 kg) and an upper bound of over ¥40 (1 kg). View the full China retail chart online. View market data [7].
